The Benefits Of A Redesigned Volleyball Training Program

Volleyball Research Essay Training is the first step towards achieving any type of fitness goal, and training programs need to be specific, to achieve specific results. The following essay will compare and evaluate the effectiveness of a redesigned volleyball training program to evaluate how specific it is in regards to the players fitness requirements. The redesigned training program was specifically based on the players fitness test results, and what is required to be improved to achieve optimal performance for their playing position. The provided volleyball-training program was very limited; there was no specificity of the players position, or what season it is throughout. Because of this, there were few strengths and weaknesses to base the relevance of the program on. Firstly, however, an essential positive aspect within the training program is that it included Strength Training. While it was unclear what season the original program was throughout, strength training is an important aspect during every season of training, to induce progression to prevent athlete from falling into reversibility. Over all, strength is of paramount importance for high intensity games such as volleyball as it allows the player to increase muscular strength, encompassing multiple physical aspects such as power and endurance, allowing the player to spike/dig/serve the ball, and participate for long periods of time without feeling fatigued. Cognitive neuroscience categorised as one of the many approaches to human cognition, focuses on the study of both the brain and behaviour in collaboration. Evidence from such approaches can be used to understand in depth, the mental processes forming cognition. Consequently, this contributes to our understanding of the mind. Despite vast development in this field, various challenges are posed as no single method can answer every question raised due to its limitations and therefore must be combined in order to produce a more reliable understanding. Cognitive psychology was the first to make progress in the understanding of these areas and accordingly it can be noticed that the tasks used by cognitive neuroscientists for brain-imaging†¦show more content†¦Brain-imaging techniques used by cognitive neuroscientist’s aid research into such field by analysing the different parts of the brain that become active when a certain task is performed. The main technique that can be discussed in the role of trying to understand the mind is Functional magnetic resonance imaging. This technique uses an MRI machine to measure brain activity by looking at changes in one’s blood flow. Stern et al, 1996 carried out research into the parts of the brain crucial for encoding and storage of information in the long-term memory store. Using fMRI, participants were monitored while performing a novel picture encoding task. Evidence was provided to show that the encoding of these pictures depends on how the ventral cortical regions and the hippocampal region interact. This highlights a link between the two which therefore creates a valid contribution to our understanding of the mind as it identifies the parts of the brain crucial for engaging in essential mental processes. On the other hand, although this link can be identified, the method used by cognitive neuroscientists cannot explain exactly how the hippocampal formation is crucial in the encoding of information i n long-term memory meaning that it cannot be explained as to why it is needed and what exactly would happen to the encoding process if damage to this formation was to occur. Michael Vey Prisoner Of Cell 25 Book Review By Yaaresh Ferzandi The book I read was Michael Vey The Prisoner Of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans. This book was an action, adventure based young-adult fiction and it is based in modern day California. It revolves around a boy named Michael Vey and his two friends Ostin and Taylor. While Michael might seem like a loser to people because he is skinny and does not talk much he actually is the most powerful being on earth. He can transmit electricity through anything that can conduct it including humans! The book is mainly about how Michael has powers and has to hide them until his mother is abducted and he goes to find her but also finds out about other kids like him and there is this†¦show more content†¦Another book I can relate it to would be Max by James Patterson. I think that the author creates a perfect blend between past and present personal conflicts. He incorporates the setting by describing it vividly to the reader but also describes the characters reaction to the setting change so that the reader can relate to the characters feelings. I think that this work is a very well put together book. Even though In the earlier questions I make it sound like a ten on ten this book is not. I rate this book a 9/10 for the soul reason that it was on a very directed path and you could the events that were going to happen before they did by just reading the book. Even the twist that the author put in were not that book which made some of the book predictable and who really wants a book in which they know everything that is going to happen. In this book I had a lot of moments of truly being astonished by the characters views and what they would say. The line that meant the most to me in this book was when The Antagonist had given Michael Vey an ultimatum of either killing a innocent man or letting his mother die. Ethan Frome Essay Ethan Frome lost control of his life when his mother died. After his mothersfuneral, Ethan did not want to be left alone on the farm, so he asked Zeena tostay with him. At first, Ethan enjoys her company. However, Zeena soon becomes anuisance to Ethan, and prevents him from becoming an engineer in a large city. After being married a year, Zeena becomes sick herself, and the only time shetalks to Ethan is to complain or show her discontent. After Mattie comes to thefarm, Ethan does not love Zeena at all. He thinks the only pleasure she has leftis to inflict pain on him. Since Zeena is a burden on Ethan, he naturally wantsto improve his life. The reason he does not have control of his life is becausehe is married to Zeena, and he is not brave enough to go away with Mattie. Thereason he is married to Zeena is because his mother died. Since Zeena is whyEthan does not have control of his life, and Ethan married her because hismother died, the point in time when Ethan lost control of his life is when hismother died. I believe Ethan could have changed the direction of his life if hehad gone away from the farm to marry Mattie. The reason he did not have controlof his life was because he was married to Zeena. If he would have married Mattieand left Zeena, he would not have been in the sled accident, and consequently,he would have lived a much happier life with Mattie. The second way Ethan couldhave changed the direction of his life is if he would have sold the farm andnever have married Zeena. This would have saved him many years of problems andunhappiness. He would never have met Mattie, which means he would never haveinjured himself in the sled accident. If he would have lived in another townbesides Starkfield, he might have been an engineer and married a woman who wouldtreat him better than Zeena ever did. Poetry
